the

Dog

Employment

Agency

Four-footed talents unleashed!

Imagine your pup as a “Lamppost Inspector” sniffing out potential lamppost issues, or as a “Golden Guardian” brightening the day for residents at care homes. Your pup could be a “Courtroom Companion” easing children’s anxieties in court, or work as a “Squirrel Surveyor” collecting data on nut caches.

The Dog Employment Agency is not just any dog-walking service; our exciting daily outings offer fun, stimulating ‘work’ that will leave your furry friend happy, fulfilled, and ready for a well-deserved nap.

How it works

1. We pick your pup up from your home.

We currently serve: Downtown Victoria, James Bay, Oak Bay, Vic West, Esquimalt, Saanich and View Royal.

2. Your pup goes to work.

We ensure that every pup spends at least 1 hour 'on the job.' The average pup will be away from home for 2 - 4 hours, allowing for transportation and traffic.

3. We bring your pup home.

Our grooming options are limited, but we will make sure your pup is clean and dry before they run back in the house to tell you all about their day.

4. Your pup gets paid.

Diet permitting, your pup is paid in the amount of 5 bits of premium kibble per completed job.

About Matt

After graduating from university, I spent six years working with visually impaired children at a Chinese foster home. Following China, my wife and I moved to the Philippines for several years to extended our work with  children with disabilities. These experiences taught me a ton about patience, empathy, and the power of building trust – all qualities that are invaluable when working with animals, too.

In 2015, our family of three moved to Vancouver Island where my love for animals really took root. I had the privilege of working at WildArc (BCSPCA's Wildlife Hospital) Whiskers Dog Daycare and Ruff Coast Canine.

My gentle approach and dedication to animal well-being ensures that every furry friend I work with feels safe, happy, and ready to find their perfect job!

About Phil

Born in 2014, Phil (short for Philomena) is Matt’s right-hand lady and joins him on many of his outings. She loves nothing more than people, and specialises in helping children overcome their fears. She’s barked no more than a half dozen times in her life.

In short, she is Mr. Rodgers in dog form.
